Was ist Open Source Circular Economy?

Formats

We have several formats to choose from. Pick what fits best to present, share or collaboratively work on your idea, solution or problem. We love interactive things! Have people get their hands dirty rather than just listening. We are happy to support you in developing the best format. Just get in touch or come by during our office hours.

ASSEMBLIES

Assemblies get a fixed spot in our venue. You get a place to show and do something together with others. Bring what you have built along with the tools you used for it. Be ready to talk to people and invite them into a creative process. You can run your assembly as creatively as you like. From a simple faire booth to a full working station where you build a full 20 meters high dome with circular design and construction methods – everything is welcome. Your assembly can run for one or more days. Get in touch and let us know, what you need for it.

TALKS

We will have a speakers program. Want to present a talk? We are happy to have you.

PANELS

More than one person on the stage discussing and sharing things in an open round. Do you have an idea for a panel? Or another creative format for our stage? Let us know.

CHALLENGES

Do you face an interesting problem while trying to build or run something circular? Share your challenge at the event and invite people to solve it together with you. If you provide good information about your problem we are sure people will find an interest in it and be happy to try to solve it together with you.

WORKSHOPS

Do you want to teach people something hands on or not? You are very welcome to do it. You can also ask people to pay fees for the workshop to cover costs for materials and so on. Get in touch with us!

*MAGIC

The wild card! Do you have an idea that doesn’t fit in one of the boxes? Well this is the box for you. Let us know what size and shape it needs to be. We are curious.

Got It. How do I sign up?

You can post your contribution directly on our forum. A short step-by-step-tutorial how to do that is here. You can post in English or German or both. Once your topic is created we will add it to the program of the event.

In case you would like to talk about your idea first shoot us an email (zimmermann.lars@email.de) or give us a call (+49176 218 65 009) or come by during our office hours every Wednesday or attend one of our pre-events.

What is ‘Open Source Circular Economy’? I am not sure if my project or idea fits?

‘Circular Economy’? Sound like something with
sustainability. Right? Ok. How about ‘Open Source’? Mmh. Sounds techie, complicated. And ‘Open Source Circular Economy’?! Uhmm

No worries! You are correct. Circular Economy is a vision and approach to a sustainable world and economy that basically works with most known sustainability ideas and initiatives.

And Open Source, yes, the word comes from the world of software development - it may sound complicated, elite or exclusive – but it really isn’t. It basically means that you are open and happy to share your knowledge and details about your idea, solution, project or initiative with everyone interested and allow them to do with it what they see fit.

So with Open Source Circular Economy we invite basically all solutions, ideas, initiatives, companies and projects that work in sustainability and are happy to be open about all details involved and interested in building new collaboration on top of this openness.

Inspiration for content can be found for example in our program of last year and there are a lot of resources available on this forum to explain to you what is Open Source and Circular Economy.

What about this year’s motto: Circular City

In a circular economy everything is connected to everything: a stool can will become a wall can will become packaging can will become a space ship can will become a dinner
. But you need to start somewhere. And this year at Agora Rollberg we want to focus on buildings and neighbourhoods. How can we create circular buildings and use circular practices in urban communities/neighbourhoods?

So we investigate circular construction methods, sustainable transport (eg. cargo bikes or better public transport), circular city hacking, sharing to avoid food waste and consume less resources and much more. If you have projects fitting here – or an institution interested in it – don’t hesitate. Get in touch!

But as said. In a circular world everything is connected to everything
So we don’t exclude anything. Circular construction and neighbourhoods can only improve with unexpected links!

@Lars2i, I spoke with @friederike about this already, but I would run an “Integral Mycology” workshop based on my research into growing mushrooms on urban waste streams (paper and coffee grounds) as part of the ongoing pilz lab lessons at Agora
