An educational programme for primary schools (age 10 and older)

The JUICE CYCLE is exactly what the name suggests: an apple juice that is circulated through the bodies of the children. In several steps the children experience how they themselves are part of the nutrient cycle. They plant apple trees, harvest apples, process them, enjoy the products together in a celebration, recyle the nutrients from the pulp and a composting toilet first in a fermentation barrel and then in a vermicompost, and finally restore them to the trees in the form of a rich humus.
The project is accompanied by explanations that refer to various subjects taught in the national curriculum such as: pressure, communicating vessels (physics), combustion, heat conductivity, acids and metals, sugar and fermentation (chemistry), pasteurisation, digestion and excretion, pathogens and hygienisation, rotting and compostation, apple varieties and genetic diversity (biology), health, community, sharing and rituals (PSHE, theatre, music), documentation of data and impressions (sciences, art, English).
