In 2019 we are doing a collaboration with a local Zero-Waste Space. In the “Baumhaus” in Berlin-Wedding there is an annual event that goes along well with our aim at circularity called the “Emergent Berlin Fest”.
For 2 days we have a very interesting program with a focus on circularity and zero waste on a district level, in Berlin called “Kiez”.

Baumhaus, like OSCEdays aims for creating Zero-Waste events. Therefore the breakfast was provided with re-usable dishes and mostly rescued food, e.g. through the German platform Foodsharing.de.

Karen presented the rationale behind the Baumhaus as a space for initiatives and people to get in touch with each other and work together to create the future we want to see.
OSCEdays - open source circular economy hackthons and events
Lars presented the OSCEdays and introduced the program of the day.
OSCE e.V. - knowledge base for open source circular economy
Maike presented the OSCE e.V. association which hosts the OSCEdays forum platform and invited people to help and join as funding members.

Food-Collective
Ermerging from a foodsharing scheme at Baumhaus a group got together to form a Food-collective to share buying food from regional sustainable sources.
Zero-Waste KiTa - zero waste kindergarden initiative
A group of parents got together to open the first German kindergarden that aims at producing no waste at all (including no diaper or food waste). The kindergarden will be opened next year close to the Baumhaus and has been meeting there so far.
Zero Waste Cities & Districts: Best Practices from around the Globe
Dina (Circular Berlin)
Circular City is all about system work, and Zero Waste cities is a great start to engage local actors, citizens and municipalities into the topic of Waste, and its prevention. The presentation gave the overview of 6 cities globally that already embraced the topic of zero waste and started promoting it via actionable plan for districts and cities.

Pop in pop out. Come in and eat. Make a sponaneous pitch of your project or ideas. Meet other circularity enthusiasts. Network. Make Plans. Study the results from the day before (will be presented). Or play around with the hands on experiments that are around for example on modularity.

Zirkulärer Saft - ein Kreislauf von Erde - Bäumen - Menschen: Bei den OSCEdays 2019 werden wir die zirkuläre Saftpruduktion im Baumhaus Berlin feiern. Wir pressen Saft aus gerettetem Obst, feiern unseren Platz im Nährstoffkreislauf und recyclen danach den Trester und unsere Ausscheidungen zu fruchtbarer Erde für neues Pflanzenwachstum.
Offen für alle - gerettetes Obst (Foodsharing, Mundraub) ist herzlich willkommen. Mehr Info hier.
OSCEdays 2019 will celebrate the circular juice production at Baumhaus Berlin. We make juice from rescued fruit, celebrate our place in the natural nutrient cycle, and afterwards recycle the pulp and our humanure into fertile soil for new plant growth.

Der Textilhafen #circulartextilemission organisiert Workshops und Veranstaltungen zu den Themen sozialer und nachhaltiger Umgang mit Alttextilien. Textilhafen demonstriert Techniken und Werkzeuge, um selbstgemachte Gewebe für Taschen, Teppiche und mehr herzustellen und ihnen ein neues, wertvolles Leben zu geben. In diesem Workshop kann man einige dieser Techniken kennenlernen und selbst ausprobieren. (Um eine kleine Spende für Material wird gebeten)

Workshop vom Zero Waste e.V.
Der interaktive Workshop führt in kompakter Form in die Prinzipien der Müllvermeidung ein und zeigt praktische Handlungsmöglichkeiten für den
Alltag auf. Auf spielerische Weise werden das Problem der Vermüllung unseres Planeten aufgezeigt und Lösungen erarbeitet. Gemeinsam in der Gruppe werden der entstehende Alltagsmüll identifiziert und Alternativen gefunden. Dabei bietet der Workshop auch Raum, über Schwierigkeiten und Hindernisse zu sprechen und Möglichkeiten zu finden, diese zu überwinden. Der Workshop ist modular und lässt sich auf unterschiedliche Bereiche des täglichen Lebens anwenden. Wir werden hauptsächlich die Bereiche Küche und Bad besprechen, es können aber auf Wunsch auch andere Lebensbereiche aufgegriffen werden.
