Draft Press Release #1 Open Labs 2016
#Open Labs: How to Make our Cities Circular?
OSCEdays and DIF joined forces to launch global online & offline event from November 7-25, 2016.
Berlin, 1st of November
The OSCEdays Open Labs are a three-week-long open participatory online & offline process to develop and implement practical actions to research and create a circular city in cities across the globe. The Open Labs connect activists, makers, researchers, and entrepreneurs around the world, working together to create practical, open source blueprints for circular cities.
Lars Zimmermann from OSCEdays: “We have created an easy format to accomplish clear results and connect people around the world for productive collaboration: Contributors and Teams can write “Action Recipes” for different specific topics, and participants from different cities can implement these Actions in local events happening in the last week of the Labs.”
The Open Labs are a collaboration of the Open Source Circular Economy Days (OSCE) and the Disruptive Innovation Festival (DIF), an open online festival on the Circular Economy happening from November 7-25, 2016 for the 3rd time.
Circularity and Open Source have become buzzwords among sustainability adepts and corporates alike. Lars Zimmermann: “Our vision with OSCEdays is to share our knowledge and experience freely in a global network, because the best solutions should be available for everyone. Our partnership with DIF through OpenLabs is a great opportunity to achieve this collaborative achievement through concrete actions.”
On the 7th of November at 8pm GMT there will be a global kick-off streaming for the Open Labs event. At the end of November, the action results will be presented.
