[BoST] OSCEdays Board Of Stewardship – About, Meetings & How To Join

What is the Board of Stewardship?

The OSCEdays Board Of Stewardship (BoST) is an open international group of people taking care of the global OSCEdays Project. The BoST uses an open transparent collaboration workflow and meets in an online video conference Monday every two weeks to discuss and decide in a democratic way about the future of the OSCEdays. The blue ‘global coordination’ categories on this forum is where that collaboration happens.

I think we should try to include a board member from each of the most active cities, and have them decide locally on who that may be.

We could actively invite people to step forward who have been active local organizers.

Hi Maike, this is exactly what we are doing right now. Got to come up with a more transparent process how this happens. Not sure if I should post a list of people who said “thanks but not right now” or “thanks i’ll think about it”.

For sure I can post who already agreed: Silvia from Indianapolis and Gien from Cape-Town.

I’d like to join the BoSt discussion tonight (19.9.2016). How do I do that?

Great to have you on the call, Maike. Please send a message to Lars to get connected on Skype. He calls the whole group. See you later on Skype.

I will send you my Skype contact by e-mail.

hi maike, my skype id is Lars2i - add me and i’ll add you. l

Hi @Silvia – I changed the ownership of the topic above. You should now be able to edit and maintain the post for the BoST Call Management Job. Please keep the list with the links to the topics about the meetings up to date.

(I wonder, if we from now on should have some keywords about what was discussed in the meetings here in the list - so it is easier to find things later – when was discussed what? - Let’s see if you find the energy for it.)

I will maintain the upper part with the Meta Information about the BoST as part of my BoST Management Overview Role – I use this topic always to explain BoST.

#Operational Work Calls 2018

On December 8, 2017 in the last Strategic Framework Session call @sharmarval suggested to dedicate every second BoST call to work together on something concrete – do operational work. Everyone loved the idea! So this is what we do now. We call this ‚Operational Work Calls’ from now on.

###To-Do-Suggestions?

We need a place to collect suggestions for what to work on during those calls here. I’d like to suggest this topic for now. Let’s see if it works. Post your ideas or suggestions what to work on during those calls below as a comment.

##First Ideas For Operational Calls

Pls. add your ideas.

Thanks for this Lars, looks great.

You are probably already thinking this but just to put the thinking out there, in terms of process, perhaps whoever wants to lead a topic can suggest/pitch to run the session to BoST and then commit to preparing reading/materials, sorting meeting session time (if different/additional to usual BoST slots), etc. in advance to facilitate using the session time super effectively. In some ways my lead on the strategy sessions with the prepared slides, thinking through of process and sorting session times etc. would be a poor man’s version of what I mean. Objectives, clear desired outputs / decisions, timelines, etc. would be great. Ideally we could come up with a super light checklist so we have a minimum level of quality assurance for every session.
I believe this approach will help us take a step up and start to evidence real progress and attract more people as we prove we are hitting our outcomes.

Great shout @seigorobinson and @Lars2i

Maybe it would be nice to consider the name of this call a bit more before we go ahead? We could link it more to the “Learn” and “Do” ideas that you two already had. Learn and do are both really active and engaging words. If we think about the communications a bit more then this way may be more engaging for people to jump in. In English, operational sounds a bit flat/serious.

What about:

Do Work Calls (like Lars wrote in his own post?)

Collaboration Calls
Cooperation Calls

Do Sessions

Active Assemblies
Assemblies

…any other better ideas out there?

Yes, a better name would be fantastic. How about

“Do Calls”
&
“Plan Calls”

UPDATE: In the BoST Call from December 18 we decided that “Do Calls” and “Plan Calls” are good.
