The OSCEdays Open Labs are a 3 weeks online & offline participatory brainstorm in collaboration with the DIF Festival to discuss, invent and start the building of the circular city across the globe. Now the real Lab is starting off and we’re going to test some action ideas in practice.
#Creating Circular Cities Top Down or from the Grassroots?
The second video streaming of the OSCEdays OpenLabs is online! In the video we explore the progress of the brainstorming of the OSCEdays OpenLabs, discuss the different proposed actions and talk live with Joe Iles from the DIF Festival. Also there are some interesting insights about
whether Circular Cities should be created top down or from the grassroots. Watch the whole video here.
#Open Collection of Ideas
If you are not sure if you can join with an action, you can at least share an idea or project concerning the shift towards circular cities in the Open Collection of Ideas. Someone else might create an action around your idea, or comes with an interesting feedback. In this way, our OSCEdays Open Labs can keep on brainstorming.
#Next Live Video Streaming: Friday 18. NOV, 11am GMT
The next video streaming will be a wrap up of Lab phase 2 and an introduction to Phase 3: ‘ACT
(Local Events)’. We will introduce all the local events added and support those who want to test an action in a local event. We will also have the local event in Las Palmas De Gran Canaria connected. They will share what is going on in their event and give some nice warm breeze of ideas. Plug in!

is locally tested in Madrid and open for other communities to lab their waste too.
#Action: Hackathon on Open Modularity
This Action is about creating a hackathon/designathon to invent and produce parts and structures with an open modular grid. Feel free to try it out!
#Action: Set up a Dinner to Create Networks
In order to reach a truly circular economy organizations need to find new ways to collaborate. This Action wants to provide a methodology to get those conversations started…
#Action: Design a Circular Product
How to design a product that is circular? According to this action, it must have 3 parts: one part Re, one part Co, one part Mod. Start your own circular product design action!
The purpose of this ACTION experiment is to develop an ACTION Protocol for writing a food policy paper for a circular city. Join with your own ideas on edible cities, urban farming, food waste reduction, nutrient recycling and food education!
