RE4 REuse and REcycling of CDW materials and structures in energy efficient pREfabricated elements for building REfurbishment and construction

The building sector is contributing significantly to the waste generation in Europe. Buildings are not designed for reuse and recycling yet. Construction and demolition waste if not diverted to landfill is often applied only to low grade applications. Ideas for the reuse and recycling of timber and mineral waste are relatively easy to implement if the construction sector is willing to make the necessary changes in order to contribute to and enable circular construction.

Some years ago I heard a talk on a project in Berlin where they developed a method to recycle concrete and bricks from demolition into new concrete units for building with up to 80% reused materials. I should search if can find the information who was doing this.
