[CHALLENGE] Ressources Mapping for a closed-loop territory

[This topic is wiki, feel free to edit and update it and post your update so we know it]

[still framing the challenge]

Context

The city of Mouans-Sartoux is working to find alternatives to incinerators - a project of incinerator in the surroundings of Mouans-Sartoux was stopped not long ago. In order to have a zero waste territory, we need to map all the different flow of resources on the territory of Mouans-Sartoux and on a larger scale le Pays de Grasse. By identifying the different inputs/outputs and byproducts used and produced by the different industries we can achieve an industrial symbiosis.

An industrial symbiosis is a local collaboration where public and private enterprises buy and sell residual products, resulting in mutual economic and environmental benefits. This approach is inspired by the concept of Industrial Symbiosis and especially Kalundborg Symbiosis. The Kalundborg Symbiosis is an industrial ecosystem, where the by-product residual product of one enterprise is used as a resource by another enterprise, in a closed cycle.

Goals

Reduce waste at the source. Recycling is the last option, worst case scenario!!!
Mutualization of byproducts

Questions?

What are the inputs and outputs of the different activites in Mouans-Sartoux?
What are the byproducts of those activities?
Who can use those byproducts?
How to facilitate collaboration?
Which tools to use for the mapping?
How to make an in-real-time mapping of those flows?
Which incentives to use?
