I think a good way to announce the new date on the website is a blogpost about it that we can also send out as a newsletter. I wrote a first draft but I think on this one a native speaker should check the language. Maybe @silvia@sharmarval@seigorobinson@gien / or @nicustasia@transitionmica - one of you has the time?
TITLE:
New Global Date: June 8-12 & OSCEdays Now
BODY:
With two years in the back we learned a lot and are ready for new experiments together with you and everyone in the world willing to explore the Circular Economy using Open Source methodologies.
First of all: The OSCEdays ‘brand’ and platform is now open for you to take whenever you want. Want to run a local event or hackathon on Open Source & Circular Economy? Feel free to connect to the platform, use the resources and methodologies that have been built in the past and contribute to it.
But we have been asked for a new JUNE date by many of you – and of course we don’t abandon where we are coming from. And so we are happy to announce that we invite you all again to run an event at the same time. The date for this is:
JUNE 8-12, 2017
We will develop and come up with new ideas how to connect a global community before, during and after the event and try to find together with all of you ways how we can globally collaborate on the development of a sustainable and circular economy.
There is a new way for signing up your local events. You can find information about that in the new participation guide. [LINK]
Please sign up your event and help us as we are going to build momentum in the coming weeks.
We also condensed what we learned in the past years into a new concept: We replaced ‘challenges’ with ‘Actions’. Actions are predefined activities well documented in the form of a step by step tutorial. Everyone can follow the steps and build and experience Open Source Circular Economy solutions.
We experimented the ACTIONS concept first during our collaboration with the DIF in November 2016 [LINK OPEN LABS DOCUMENTATION] – and the results encouraged us to continue experimenting with the concept. Actions offer content for your local events. In the coming weeks we will come up with formats that help us to build more content – write ACTIONS – for the global event in JUNE and beyond. If you have a solution or experiment on Circular Economy in mind and are willing stay tuned to join our upcoming ‘writers weekends’. (A simple way to do that is to sign up to our newsletter – if you haven’t already).
With two solid years behind us, we have learned a lot and made many new friends. We are ready to continue the next phase of this exciting journey with all of you…to converge the Circular Economy with Open Source methodologies.
Many of you have asked when the next OSCE Days will be. We are happy to announce that the event will be on:
JUNE 8-12, 2017
But that’s not all. A lot of you have expressed feedback that OSCEDays would be so much more awesome if we opened the platform year round so that you can have the continuity required to fully develop your exciting projects. Though one week is exciting, we all realize that mature projects require much longer sustained and continuous development. We’ve listened to you and agree. Subsequently, the OSCEdays ‘brand’ and platform is now open year round for you to take and use whenever you want. Want to run a local event or hackathon on Open Source & Circular Economy? Feel free to connect to the platform at any time, use the resources and methodologies that have been built in the past and contribute to it. With this more expanded vision, the June event can be a time in which the community comes together to share the success the year’s work.
We will continue to innovate new ideas that will better connect our growing global community - before, during and after the event and to foster a vibrant community that will collaborate on the development of a sustainable and circular economy.
To make it easier to start your participate, we have created a new way to signup your local events. You can find information about that in the new participation guide. [LINK]
Please sign up your event and help us as we build momentum in the coming weeks!
Open Source is all about sharing and In an effort to make the aggregated community knowledge more accessible to the world, we have condensed what we learned in the past years into a new concept: We replaced ‘challenges’ with ‘Actions’. Actions are predefined instructions or constructive activities that are defined in a clear step by step tutorial format. Anyone can follow the steps and build and experience the Open Source Circular Economy solutions that our community have co-created.
We piloted the ACTIONS concept during our collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation DIF in November 2016 [LINK OPEN LABS DOCUMENTATION] – and the positive results encouraged us to continue experimenting with it. In the coming weeks we will develop formats that help us to build more content and express them as ACTIONS – for the upcoming JUEN global event and beyond. If you have an Open Source Circular Economy solution or experiment you want to try, we invite you to join our upcoming ‘writers weekends’. (This will be announced in our forum as well as in our newsletter - sign up and don’t miss any important info!).
No, thank you.
You contribute by far the most to this effort, so we should all be thanking you. I’m glad to help when I can. I too agree that you should receive that money so that you can continue doing the web work. It seems to be the most efficient way forward right now.
