FOCUS
Our focus will be collaboratively reviewing and developing these further, developing insight, inspiration and practical resources to support integrating circular thinking (making and doing ) into community space (makespaces, libraries….) and provide tips, tools and templates for the startups, and makers, prototypes using them. Taking forward and building on from last years challenges ( and subsequent research, circular area developments). Aiming to produce some practical tools & guidance that can be built on and taken forward by others.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS

  • Consideration of different audiences and engagement, communication, tech open source, circular economy, design knowledge
  • Practical tangible and almost instantly useable outcomes, resources, tools, templates

OUTLINE AGENDA AND TOPICS

Scene Setting
We want this to be a collaborative event - we’ll be doing a bit of opening facillitation and getting to know who’s here but then we’ll all be exploring and working on aspects together in a very open agenda  this is your event to shape throughout the day too!

INTRO’s & SHARING
We’ll be sharing a bit on the Open Source Circular Economy days, what went on last year and what’s happening this
Intro to last years activtiy and focus regarding Circular Make Spaces as well as Future Makespaces research with @Grit & @sharmarval, @TechnicalNature (and others chipping in)
We’ll also hear about the Open Energy Life Cycles challenge from @Trystan_Lea from Open Energy Monitor - what we worked on last year, what’s happened since then and what could be great to do this.

TOPICS

There are a number of topic areas that have emerged from the challenge that we intend to have a “world cafe” style round to give everyone a chance to think, discuss and feed into them and plan what may be interesting to “create”,
Those reading online/ around the world

PLEASE CONNECT WITH US AND WE"LL ALSO LOOK ONLINE _WE"D LOVE TO SPEAK WITH OTHERS WORKING OR WHO HAVE INPUT ON THE BELOW

Topic areas include (but not limited to):

  • Values/ Manifestos/ Guidance/ Manuals - How can Circular principles be integrated and embedded in an organisation and community space? Outline examples and templates, inspiration to support building in front end circular thinking, principle and values / Workspace manual / Circular, Social & Enviro policies…

  • Guidance at point of use/ signage & resources - - Developing elements of point of use / influence signage around: Efficient material usage / Visually showing 3D printing sizes & quality / Circular Economy flows from small scale - where maker is manufacturer perspective

Focusing on developing on specific resources related to mapping - Opportunities to share, reuse, recycle etc Local ecosystem, related OS/CE links

THEN ???

Once we’ve had a chance to explore all of these - it’s then up to participants to choose which area they might like to work on for the rest of the day, either staying with one or floating, rotating later.

We’ll spend the afternoon then working on these before sharing where we’re up to and thinking about next steps from around 16:30 to 17:30 before clearing up and heading to the pub!!

What better way to spend a Friday hey?
