Workshop: Decoding and Designing a Circular Economy

Who are we / Wer sind wir ?

We are Piyush and Elana, German Chancellor Fellows supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to research the circular economy in Germany. Elana previously served as Assistant Director of Professional Education for the Environmental Law Institute in the United States, and Piyush worked for the German Development Organization (GIZ) in India for five years as National Advisor for Business and Biodiversity.

What will we do / Was werden wir machen ?

This workshop is created for innovators, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs (and sustainability enthusiasts). The workshop aims to teach basic concepts surrounding circular economy, nurture a systems perspective, and share practical innovation methods which participants could apply to their lives and/or work.

We will go through a couple of examples of successful circular business models before splitting up into groups to tackle our own circularity challenges to see how we can make common consumer goods more circular.

Hi, this is very nice. For the advertising part. Would you say that this session is “for beginners” - so it also works as an introduction to the concept at all?

Hi Lars,

Yes, this session is aimed at people with limited knowledge of CE, so was developed as an introductory exercise. Also to really emphasize that CE is more than just recycling, since that is such a common misconception.

Elana

Hi Lars

Do you know whether this workshop would take place on the 14th or the 15th? We would like to plan our time accordingly.
